Heritage passes to explore the grounds and Lightkeepers’ Museum are available for purchase on-site for a discounted rate of $5.00.
Essential Information
A reasonable level of fitness is required to climb to the top of the lighthouse tower.
Children 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult, and a minimum of two adults is required for each tour to proceed.
Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse stands on a rugged headland overlooking the Indian Ocean, Geographe Bay, and the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.
An easy climb of just 59 steps takes you to the tower balcony, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding coastline. Between September and November, migrating whales are often spotted from both the balcony and the accessible observation platform at the base of the lighthouse.

The Lightkeepers’ Museum, housed in one of the original cottages, brings these stories to life through historical artifacts and interactive exhibits. Discover the history of shipwrecks, the isolation and resilience of the keepers, and the remarkable engineering behind this historic landmark, which has watched over the coastline since 1904.
