Around two-thirds of South Australian adults gamble, and for some people gambling can cause harm to themselves and to the people around them. Gambling harm is caused by risky gambling. Risky gambling means spending too much time or money gambling. It can show up in obvious ways like losing money but it can also appear in less obvious ways. Some signs include neglecting family, friends, work and other responsibilities, increased alcohol or drug use and feelings of anger, guilt and shame. If this sounds like something you or someone you care about is experiencing, it may be because of gambling harm. Recognising when gambling is harmful can help you work out what to do next.

Talk. Listen. Learn. For most people, changing their relationship to gambling isn’t a straightforward process. Wherever you are in your journey, we want you to remember that help is available over the phone, online and in person.
What help is available?
The Gambling Helpline is staffed by trained professionals who understand the challenges of changing gambling behaviour and have the skills to support you. They won’t judge you, criticise you or make you feel bad about yourself.
The website has useful information and support. You can choose to take the first steps by yourself, chat with others who have been there before you or chat live online for free with a professional counsellor.
Face-to-Face Counselling is also available. You can access free and confidential Gambling Help Services across metropolitan and country South Australia. The counsellors are trained and experienced and can provide referrals.

Victoria Seniors Card Information

Seniors Card To be eligible for the WA Seniors card, you need to be: Aged 63 years or above. An Australian Citizen or hold an Australian Permanent Resident Visa. Reside in Western Australia for more than half the year. Work less than 25 hours per week in paid employment.
