Perth Observatory has been helping Western Australians explore the universe for well over a century. Founded by the State Government in 1896 on Mt Eliza and relocated to the peaceful hills of Bickley in 1966, it has long been a place of discovery, curiosity, and wonder.
For much of its life, the Observatory operated as a scientific research facility, contributing to important astronomical work, including playing a role in the discovery of the rings of Uranus.
Run by a passionate team of volunteers since 2015, the Observatory offers visitors the chance to explore historic telescopes, hear fascinating stories of space and science, and gaze up at the night sky like you’ve never seen it before. From glittering star clusters to distant galaxies, there’s always something incredible waiting above.

Victoria Seniors Card Information
There are two cards available to seniors in Victoria, the Seniors Card and the Seniors Business Discount Card.

Western Australia Seniors Card Information
Seniors Card To be eligible for the WA Seniors card, you need to be: Aged 63 years or above. An Australian Citizen or hold an Australian Permanent Resident Visa. Reside in Western Australia for more than half the year. Work less than 25 hours per week in paid employment.

South Australia Seniors Card Information
Seniors Card Eligibility: You can apply for a South Australian Seniors Card if: you're aged 60 years or older you're a permanent South Australian resident you're not working more than 20 hours per week in paid employment (part-time and casual employees may average their hours over 12 months).
