The Blue Lotus Water Garden is a seasonal floral display garden and tourist attraction located near the Yarra Ranges National Park in Victoria’s Yarra Valley.
Famous for a mass display of lotus flowers, waterlilies and Australia's biggest waterlily, the garden is much loved by people of many cultures and nationalities.
It was opened in 2005 after 5 years of development and has grown to cover 50,000 sqm (6.7ha). Its features include 40 different waterways (ponds, lagoons & lakes), fountains, trails, ornate bridges and a glasshouse complex containing some of the world’s most spectacular plants.
An impressive range of facilities have been built to enhance the experience for visitors including: Easy-to-walk pathways, picnic & BBQ shelters, fairy garden, cafe, kiosk, plant nursery, gift shops, disabled amenities, group pavilions & coach parking.
The Blue Lotus Water Garden now welcomes 40,000 visitors a year from late December to mid-April.
